My Personal Review:
I think Mercury Drug Citi Card is just a bit better than the Cashback, I give it 7/10

Good Side:
  • The 2% rebate for mercury drug purchases
  • The 0.5% for non-mercury drug purchases
  • The up to 90 day P5,000 hospital coverage.
  • Other perks from partner merchants
Bad Side:
  • The 2% rebate when applied to MD products, gives no significant difference compared to buying these products elsewhere. I mean, at MD, prices are higher (that's my personal opinion though, and it only cover some of their items like infant formulas and baby needs compared to the malls).
  • Anual fee is P1,800/annually. The rebates may seem sweet but calculate first how much you intend to the whole year and if the rebates will give you significant savings over the classic card which costs P1,200/year. The membership fee for the first year is free though.
On the bottom line, you could consider getting this type of card if you are an avid consumer of Mercury Drug, and if you can shoulder thye P1,800 annual fee. If you tend to go to clinics regularly, or you see yourself hospitalized anytime in the near future, certainly get this card to maximize its potential!
